How many Chinamen had to die to bring us this video card? Seems like a DUMB move for NV...csmag wrote:

No difference. I'd still go with the best support/warranty.

for a fatty you're a serious intellectual lightweight.
And the xbox and the ps3 and so on. My point is that it's not really made in house by Nvidia thus not really worth the price premium over something like an ASUS card.jsnipy wrote:

it's most likely a market ploy - a way to get their name out there. It is very hard for a company like Nvidia to turn a profit on ventures like this, as most retailers like Best Buy have such insane requirements and warranty policies that it rarely makes sense to 'go retail' unless you either offer a very expensive product or you are trying to steal away market share. Looks more like an effort to raise brand awareness than to try to gain some of the revenue from the retail market.
These cards are no different then the reference cards AIB's purchase from Nvidia to sell to you.
Although I disagree with this decision, there is no need to jump on the anti nvidia bandwagon, especially when it's Kyle Bennett's.

you'd be surprised at the amount of people that haven't a clue about the guts of a computer.RTHKI wrote:

Well... If I were to get a reference card I'd get the one with the longest warranty...
Otherwise I'd get one with a custom cooler and the longest possible warranty

I've always thought of it as something special to get something directly from the manufacturer, branded as its own with its own livery and all factory shiny. Whether it's GPU's or Cars or whatever

@Mek: usually buying direct from the manufacturer has discounts in there. It would be nice if Nvidia did this, or at least kept the price the same and threw in a few perks.
@Floppy: That's exactly what I did with my card. Couldn't get the EVGA with the lifetime warranty so I got the ASUS.
