I'm looking for a cheap external harddrive (or whatever they are called) for a macbook pro. Any ideas?
size? price? usb/socket power?
usb and for less than 50 pounds
Something like a Western Digital Elements 500GB would probably be a good option.
I've never had a problem with any of my WD external hard drives, but I know some people aren't big fans...

I've got a WD external at the moment, and no problems (touch wood), but I had one before it and it died.

I'd type my pc specs out all fancy again but teh mods would remove it. Again.

Mine has survived a few nasty drops onto tiled floors and things, other than that though it tends to sit on top of my pc most of the time.

Fuck Israel
Never really had any problems with WD internal or external drives, they have all been good to me so far.
^ looks pretty hot
I'd still stick my power cable into it's input socket.
If you know what I mean.

Oh noes but it's flash! If you rename a file 10 times it will be deleted!!!
Hawt
The new WD passport externals are plagued with problems. I'd go for one with a dedicated power supply for sure.
But Wiiiiiiiiinstonnnn
