Beheadings may seem a fine way to go but the reality is chechens are just as prone to cut your throat and let you bleed out over the period of 1-5 minutes, making horrible wheezing sounds as they laugh at you. I'd rather be shot, wanting a quick, painless death isn't a hard concept to understand.

All Iknow about the Chechnyan's is that they're rebels and that they usually use guerilla styles of attack. How do theRussians attack Chechnya? The regular way, or does Russia do some pretty unethical things to them? Like,other than leveling towns, wich isn't nice and kills civilians, but there's casualtiesin every war. Basically Chechnya opted for independence and Russia took its usual road when one of it's old territories tries something it doesn't agree with.

The Russian's still seem to apply their old WW2 tactics of laying waste to everything, and regardless of casualties, while the Chechens do similar stuff to the insurgent groups in Iraq with the beheadings and executions of prisoners, taking hostages or bombing civilians like the Moscow theatre or Beslan. Hell of a lot of massacres too.
It'll probably flare up in the future. Every now and then there's a bombing against a police station or government seat.

I've also been too up close and personal with 155mm artillery that fell short. It's not there to scare you, it's there to blow your ass up.
If you do not have a few hundred meters of air (distance) or a few yards of earth (cover), you're pretty much screwed in an artillery strike.

To paraphrase a famous line from an old movie, 'Gutshot, bleeding out, with half-digested MRE shit being pumped through your veins is no way to end your life, son' It's painful, it's a long lingering death, and it makes the worst case of puking/vomiting flu or food poisoning look like a mild case of the sniffles.

Guillotine is quick. Kitchen knife is not. There was a guy from Iraq, a contractor who was killed... in his beheading video (I watched it when I was like 15. Really desensitized me towards a lot of war images) you can hear him gasping for air as the majority of his neck his bloodied and shredded. It's awful. They actually hack at his neck while he's still breathing.
