I've been toying with getting a desktop and so far this is what I've come up with after a bit of research:
Antec Three Hundred Black
ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO
Radeon HD 5770
SeaSonic S12II 620 Bronze 620W
AMD Athlon II X3 450 Rana 3.2GHz
G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333
Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200 RPM
Hanns·G HW-191APB Black 19"
some random dvd drive
Windows 7
Total: ~$825
I don't need speakers or keyboard/mouse, but I will need a monitor and OS. I'd like to keep it at around $800+/- $50 including the monitory/OS, but with enough persuasion/reasoning I'm willing to go up to $1000. Is there anything that could use some swapping out or is there anything worth waiting for within the very near future? Or is there anything important missing from the list? I don't plan on buying an aftermarket cooler for the CPU because I'm not sure that I'll be doing any OCing (never having done it before) and to sort of cut costs.
I don't need to be able to play the very latest games on Ultra High on highest resolution humanely possible (mostly cause I probably won't be able to afford a monitor that can support any of those resolution), and from what I've read, the 5770 can apparently do well in most current games unless there is something better for cheaper.
