is it just me or do you guys think they did the whole expert reqs backwards? I mean, does it only make sense to have an easier set of golds (expert kit badges) for the first general rank? Face it, a LOT of people already have expert kit badges, right? Why not make that the requirement for the first general? THEN they could make the next rank harder by making the vehicle badges a req. The way it is now, they might as well have never made the one and two star general rank. No one with 1500 hours in vehicles will not have at least 100 hours per kit. So basically no one will ever be those 2 ranks... its just backwards....

This is just a thought - but i think with these requirements of somany hours in tanks etc. people are gonna whore vehicles, but hide too! I mean sitting out of the way somewhere "racking" up the hours without aiding the team. Even more so if someones getting close to Major General....

The people on the leaderboard will easily make it to Major General, which is the same requirements for points and all of the expert badges.
I think they should lower the requirments for those badges a little.

It is not possible to get the top ranks. Not just highly improbable but impossible.
To get B.General you need 180,000 points and a bunch of expert badges. So, if you have the right expert badges, you will be promoted to Brigadier General when you have 180,000 points.
To get M.General you need 180,000 points and the expert combat class badges. And Brigadier General rank. So if you have the right badges, when you hit 180,000 points, you will get Brigadier General rank... and that's it because you can't have a second promotion for the same amount of points.
To get Lt.General you need 200,000 points and M.General. Which you can't get.
To get B.General you need 180,000 points and a bunch of expert badges. So, if you have the right expert badges, you will be promoted to Brigadier General when you have 180,000 points.

Yeah surely. For now there's not that many that have 180k points, but the scores are continuosly incrementing. Just look at the amount of Sergant Majors... You're kinda right though, but I think after like 6months to a year many will be stuck at the requirements.

You all know what'll happen, as soon as someone gets the vehicle stuff done, they'll get 2-3 promotions because they already have the higher requirements met. Therefore I really doubt we'll see Brig. Generals last long as they'll get promoted too quickly (like one kill later). Definately shortsighted by the guys at Dice and kind of sad really...
I think they lost it i wont be playing this game so much anymore not more than 7hours a week
I've got my eye on the 'captain' rank. If I get that I'll be happy.

I think the requirements for Brig Gen and Maj Gen should be swapped. Everyone wants to become a general, so make it possible, but not everyone is worthy of becoming a high ranking general. If Brig general had the maj general requirements you would actually see a general before next year. As it is right now once you become a brig general you will be lt. general immedietly, basically skipping maj. general. The ranks should have a bit of space in between.

i doubt anyone will be able to achieve this rank since u need to meet the requirements b4 u reach the 180k.
most people who would finally meet those requirements (i doubt anyone actually does atm) will most likely already have more than 180k points.
300 hrs of jet flying and 400 hrs of tank *whoring* will ensure a score higher than 180k in most cases.

Why do you need the requirements before 180k? You can't get the higher ranks without brig gen. It must go in order, check the ranks again.
Why do you think they have to meet the requirements before 180k? I don't think so, since brigadier and major general both has 180k as req.. If it was like that, it wouldn't be possible ever to see a brigadier gen.. (Not that we'll be seeing any now, but thats cause people tend to achieve the expert kit badges before the vehicle badges..)psyc1one wrote:

Look, theyll change the reqs before the masses get anywhere close. The reqs for ranks have been changed in EVERY PATCH. That will continue. They arent right now, because, well, it makes no difference. No one is close enough. Heck the later ranks werent even shown in the early versions of the game...
if u look at firestorms stats is says he is getting promoted to major general which is the one above brigadier general but i dont know he is doing that because he doesnt even he the reqs for major general.

That guy has been playing since June 28, 2005. Thats 228 days of game ownership. He has, in that 228 day period, played BF2 for 2045 hours. That's the equivalent of over 85 days! He averages about 9 hours a day!!glopje_nl wrote:
