The odd occasion when a law student takes a chemistry module something is bound to go wrong. Bf2s, I need your help...

If anyone knows how to identify a compound using this mass spectrometry graph please pass on the info and I will reward with a cheeky bit of movember karma.

Please let me know if you're having trouble seeing the image at all.

Don't you have a text book? Each element/compound has it's own spectrograph.

Nah I don't, my chemistry knowledge is next to non-existent and I'm hesitant at the idea of spending £80 on the assigned course text book. Any link to a resource solving my problem would be real help

So go to your schools library and find an old copy of your text book.

you need a book in which the masses of different molecules etc are listed to begin with, else you can't really solve this.

why did you take the course?

also read this:

should help to understand the graph somewhat.

I needed a change from law and the course assessments are fairly simple. It's only this question that's fucked me.

if you can do without the chemistry module, drop it. You're not going to get anywhere without text.

after three years you get a bit tired of reading countless articles on why there are 13 different definitions for the word employment. The profession is different from its academic side.

Yep. Practicing law is even more tedious than the academic side. Do you think you will just step into trial law? No, you're gonna be some firms bitch for years doing nothing but researching old cases.

well I can do part 1, look up cobalt thiocyanate, it turns blue in the presence of cocaine.

then I google mass spectrometer graph of cocaine and BAM

exact same graph

teddy what he's trying to say is that you need to join the military, come from a poor background, and then go into engineering

Difference is I'm getting paid a lot of money to be a firm's bitch with the prospects of a promotion to partner that will pay me even more money and allow me to treat someone as my bitch.

see what I did there.

And no, I don't think I will just step into trial law...I have no intention of becoming a trial lawyer.  They are two different different things across the pond.

and then in another thread he'll gladly share with you how he's going to make so much money and is so wise in his decisions

and the best thing is that all the advice is free! you silly lawyer! go be someone's bitch!

it would be a natural crossover, really, to just go from law->forensic-chemistry->physics->engineering

consider changing your degree path asap

No, I was just trying to give him a dose of reality. Being a lawyer isn't anything like what you see on tv.

galt i don't think anyone is delusional here about anything. he asked for a bit of fucking help with his degree homework, jesus

i musta missed the part where he said he's gonna go be mr. kardashian in hollywood after finishing the chemistry unit

perhaps the only person that needs a dose of objective reality is you; your self-assurance about everything is fucking hilarious
