I really feel for you guys coming out of school in this economy.
Yeah, good luck with that upper middle-class salary thing. I hope you've got a killer work ethic.

But I'd die knowing I didn't really do much for humanity.
If you succeed in getting paid a lot, you can do an awful lot for your fellow man with it.

I've got a few years thankfully, hopefully by then it'll bounce back. Plus my school is highly ranked for MIS, so I shouldn't have too much trouble getting a job. It's still tough out there though.

Does she sound like your mom or something? Oedipal? She makes me want to rip my ears off.

Good Night, I fly back to the sun and beach  tomorrow to be with my stunningly hot wife, then back to london next friday for xmas with mumma and dogs, in front of the glowing fire with snow falling gently outside in the English countryside.....It's a tough life.

Do yourself a favor and keep track of the relevant job market while you're taking your classes. Talk to the instructors and see if you can establish some contacts.

i can't say i have a clear or structured career plan but i know for sure i don't want that... and that's something, right? sometimes it's easier to define your goals and set a direction based on what you DON'T want than what you necessarily DO, and don't know yet. i want to do something academic, i guess, or something involving an intellectual pursuit that i can engage with. as for what particularly... i don't know... that's why i'm still honing away and specialising with a master's. the next step is a PhD and then i'll have found my niche, or at least a 'main' one, i guess.

and yeah i'd love to write music reviews, but everyone has an opinion and anyone can follow musical trends, in the journalist sense. one of my professors is one of the top music-cultural critics in the UK at the moment and i'm eagerly trying to get some advice and direction from him in email correspondence; there's so much more to writing about music in the artistic/cultural sense than to just mechanically plod through the songs. i find it really interesting... and to be honest that's all i'm going on at the moment. just kinda groping around with various interests, trying to make ends meet in a productive sense.

It's absolutely gorgeous outside

the cloud cover is so low it's bouncing the light from the streetlights down again and it's illuminating my garden in this eery orange glow, so bright it looks like dusk/dawn.. couple that with the gentle snowfall with massive flakes and the only sound you can hear is the gentle tide up and down the beach a mere quarter mile from my house.. it's stunning. Never been in an atmosphere so amazing.

What's that one movie where Kevin Costner dresses up like Elvis and robs a casino? He ends up going down in a hail of gunfire after killing about two dozen cops with a magic SAW.

it's nice here when it snows too (LDN house) because heathrow shuts down and the m25-orbital motorway nearby empties

it's really odd to be in one of the busiest and most bustling cities in the world, and to not hear air/traffic noise pollution. very eerie.

although at home in the country i can literally be awake at night, as now, and know that nobody for miles around is awake. same with going for afternoon strolls or night-time walks... won't meet another person, car or any sign of life. i love the countryside. such a romanticist for that sort of thing
