[HAWX 2] Crashes on startup

Bought it yesterday. I got through the whole Ubisoft log in thing, thats never a problem. Immediately after though it seems the game tries to open up and it turns into a black box about 2/3 the side of my screen just like an open program then I get the message "HAWX 2 has crashed" or w/e it says. Standard program has crashed message.

I'm running 4 gigs of ram, Q6400 or something like that, 8800 GT 512, Vista, etc.

Yeah. Absolutely impossible to map controls on my joystick. No matter what I do it thinks I'm moving the stick. If deadzone is a problem there is an option under Control Options to change the deadzone. I don't think it works though.
