I want to make a Christmas cake, but I can't find certain things.

I need Marzipan,
roll icing

Any idea where I could get these? Just been to a Fry's and they only had half the stuff I need.

Most of that stuff is found in a large brand name supermarket. I worked at a Stop and Shop (major Northeastern brand) and I know for a fact that we had all of that.

I'm pretty sure a Wal-mart wouldn't have any of that, and Fresh and easy isn't big enough probably.

The can I got from Key Food, the tube I got from King Kullen. Both are supermarkets and both had the marzipan in the baking aisle next to the sprinkles and sugar and cake mixes.

ya, fondant's pretty nasty... I never understood why they made such a big deal out of those cakes on shows like Ace of Cakes or whatever. Sure, it looks nice... but I bet it tastes like shit.

i used to make buttercream and sugar icing just in a bowl and eat it by itself... fuck the cake and baking part

and often when actually bothering to go one step further with the rest of the ingredients, i'd just eat the cake mixture out of the bowl

some ingredients are just too nice
