Guys, I found the shit.
And yeah, it was http://www.frysfood.com. Maybe you are right about Arizona, but I went to about 4 stores and only raisins.
It's pretty hard to go around all the stores in the area when I don't know what one is when I drive past it because I've never heard of it.
The reason to make my own it because shop cakes taste like ass, and this cake is a traditional family Christmas cake and you don't let food into the country on planes so I would be missing out if I didn't make it. It's fucking delicious.

Thanks west-phoenix, thats the sort of thing I was looking for, you just came a bit late!

Sultana is a type of raisin, don't really know the difference, and now do most people. I think technically they are a different type of grape, but wiki seems to think the names can be interchangeable.

The trick of having a great holiday season is to do minimal seasonal planning. Instead of baking the cake just go to Wal-Mart (or other similar store) and pick one out. Next you take the cake out of the box and apply some of your own designs, then claim the cake is yours.
That's no fun at all. I seriously enjoy cooking.

I would think using golden raisins in place of sultanas would work. Currants (I am assuming black currants) would be much harder to find in America outside of an ethnic store. Since you are in lily white (and Mexican) Arizona, you're more than likely out of luck. Best bet would be to order them online.

If it's a traditional Christmas/Fruit cake you should have cooked it like 2 months ago and left it to mature.

Also the knowledge of food, and/or availability in America (some states of America) portrayed in this thread is amazingly poor.

Currants are not blackcurrants. They're small dried Black Corinth grapes and look like
https://www.apdf.com.au/images/main/currants.jpg

Sultanas are larger then currants, usually a golden colour and are a dried yellow grape and look like
https://www.apdf.com.au/images/main/sultanas_light.jpg

Raisins are bigger again and can be golden or black dried from Thomson Seedless or Muscat grapes respectively. (I am assuming the OP is in search of the black raisins as the golden ones are very similar to sultanas)

We have a different food culture here. Turkey is on the other side of the planet, why would we be familiar with their food? Turks emigrate to Germany and Finland, not America.
