He, John Edwards, came in second place and was picked by the guy who came in first place, John Kerry, as his running mate. So in short she was the wife of the vice presidential nominee who lost the election of '04 to Bush.
A little over a year ago it came out that John Edwards was nailing some reporter while his wife, Elizabeth, was fighting cancer. He may also have had a baby with the woman. His wife didn't leave him and take half in a messy divorce and instead stood together with him.
Now some people like Poseidon think she's a saint because she stood with her husband even though he was cheating on her while she was fucking dying. Others like 11b take a more pessimistic view and believe she stood by her husband so she could keep living a awesome lifestyle without having to go through a messy divorce while she's dying of cancer.
Though 11b's view is a more realistic approach to the whole thing we'll never know one way or the other. I just hope the news doesn't drag this out for the rest of the week.

What the hell is the point of "cleaning a thread"? You just end up removing nasty comments after they've already done their damage while not addressing the real problem- the members attitudes.
