Sounds like a lot of people are ticked off by the new patch. The biggest gripe I hear is from the guys flying helos or jets.
I think that after a while, the good pilots are still going to rack up the points. It may be harder for them, and they may need to think, but they will adapt and pwn again. Besides, even though AA might be improved as far as effectiveness, I sure as hell don't feel excited about exposing myself to an experienced pilot or sniper by sitting in that stupid AA turret. ;-)
The mediocre pilots are going to have to get better, or they will not be in the sky very long. I think this is cool. If they keep getting shot down and they can't figure out a way to beat the AA, then they'll either quit playing or they'll have to try some other vehicle or do infantry stuff.
This probably applies to many of the changes. Guys that used to like to bunny-hop will either get better with other tactics or tricks, or they will whine and then hopefully quit. Same thing for C4 throwers. I never had a problem with these guys in the past, but no one asked me if these things should be taken out of the game. Quite frankly, I never cared.
I also hear about the Support weapons being too accurate. Well, at the distances in which most combat occurs in this game, a PKM or SAW, or whatever SHOULD be able to mow down unmounted infantry from 25M away! And for those saying that support guys can now snipe, maybe they can, but if they're in the prone position, they are that much easier to headshot!
As for the sniper gun being beefed up, so what? If you get hit in the chest by a .50 cal round, it seems only fair that you die. :-) Snipers still need to shoot and move, or they will die. They STILL can be spotted by UAV. Their silhouettes can still be spotted relatively easily. They're still relatively useless in CQC. So, maybe some good snipers will pick up some extra kills. That's OK. Commanders and opposing team members will just have to pay more attention to snipers. I got killed about 3x in a round on Karkand last night by people sniping. I didn't spaz out, and neither should anyone else. I either caught them while they were reloading, snuck up on them and killed them, or someone on my team took care of them. No biggie.
I'm not very good at this game, and I still had fun last night. I can only imagine that those who have real skills will enjoy the game with the new patch, too. Good players will adapt and improve, while people getting by on tricks and exploits will either learn new tricks and exploits, learn how to kick butt without cheap tricks and exploits, or get frustrated because their k/d ratio is going down and leave the game.
I don't think I'm being an ass about this. I'm trying to be rational.
