Once again you're being naive and assuming things and going into more detail than what's required. All I said was unforseen events where you absolutely need to drive your car. That's enough to negate all the what if's about emergency services etc..RDMC wrote:
I'm pretty sure that if you call the emergency service and explain that your situation requires immediate medical attention but you are locked out of your car because you are basically to drunk that they will help you out..Mekstizzle wrote:
That's abit of a naive reply, reallyRDMC wrote:
You could always call 911? Or whatever the emergency number is in England.
Then again it does display that such a system is not perfect..
Life can throw anything at you, it's best not to limit yourself in any rather unnecessary way

Mek you're basing your argument on an exception. In absolutely 99.99% of the cases people are simply drunk driving and putting others at risk.
inane little opines
I'd have to take up drinking before I gave a crap one way or the other. To be honest, I wouldn't mind one in my car in case it was stolen by a drunk (who couldn't wire).Mekstizzle wrote:
Really, what if. You're having a few drinks at home. Suddenly some unforseen event happens where you absolutely need to use your car, even if you are over the limit. It's literally life or death whether you can drive away or not. Only to find your car locks you out because you're over the limit.unnamednewbie13 wrote:
Would not affect me either way.
It's not good to shift the responsibility from the driver/person to the car like this "for the greater good" and all that. Murphy's law will indicate it will probably end up fucking you in the ass.
I wouldn't buy a car that does this, you never know what happens in life.
Agreed.RDMC wrote:

Actually, I think a liberal application of handcuffs would be better...RDMC wrote:

And not the bedroom kind.

You mean to tell me none of you has ever driven intoxicated at least once in your lives.
If the women don't find ya handsome. They should at least find ya handy.
I'll admit I've driven drunk in the past. Never on a highway or in a populated area though...UnkleRukus wrote:

The smart drinkers know where to drive afterwords.

I've had to drive home after a night at the bar.UnkleRukus wrote:

Nothing happened, but still doesn't mean I'd want to do it again.
The clarification, howevfer, is history, i.e. record (multiple tickets/citations/etc)

Drove pretty buzzed around a block to see if I was good enough to drive. Wasn't lol. My friend who was also still a bit buzzed drove us home, definitely don't wanna do that again. We would've stayed at our friend's house if he hadn't been a colossal cunt.

One of my high school friends is doing 5 years for mowing down and paralyzing another one of our friends because he was drunk.
Even if they somehow made liquor taste like soda (the only reason i don't drink is because of the taste) I still wouldn't drive drunk. I wouldn't mind walking if I had to. I walked 8 miles while high two years ago because I didn't want to drive.
