Right, got a laptop in October, got a virus (all that gay porn, I guess), so I did a system restore thing which sent it back to how it was when I got it (well, it's supposed to, anyway).
So yeah, did that, but now it's just acting up. Mouse lags as I move it across the page, sound keeps muting and un-muting itself, web-cam turns on and off all the time, etc. Note, none of these are symptoms from the virus I had.
During the virus period I did get a "Hard Drive failure" message when booting and bought a new one, but when I turned it on again it seemed to work and I managed to get into safe mode and do a system restore.
So, my question is, does this sound like a software problem (ie, should I get hold of a proper windows CD and not a system restore thing) or could it be my HDD? Any tests I should run?
Or should I attempt a new system restore and see if it was just an error that happened during installation?
