I've got a turtle beach X1 headset and the bass is actually REALLY good for being such a cheap headset. What do you guys recommend for really good bass?

for really good bass, I'd go with an ISP XMAX 415. I've had a chance to listen to a set (4 of them, in one space) and they sound really good.
Actually, a standard trick, expecially for a drummer, is to use a sub, such as a single 15" or 18" driver, in conjunction with his in-ears...... but that's all pro-audio stuff

For home headsets, I'd say take a look, at the sennheisers, also, try looking for a more "closed" pair, iirc with headphones, the better the 'seal' between your head and the driver, the better the bass response will be. (the better the sound isolation, too)

I think you have that mixed up, open headphones are generally regarded as better for overall sound quality, especially the bass.  The main advantage closed headphones has is isolation which he hasnt stated whether he needs or not.  Closed headphones have a higher likelihood of distorting at lower frequencies due to resonance.

Sennheiser EH-150s - those plus Tiesto's "Fresh Fruit" and you can have your eyeballs massaged.

Oh, perhaps. I am pretty bad with headphones... not a huge fan.
plus, any IEM related application, I'm usually going for isolation anyway, so I prefer Sure E5's (or what ever they are called now), or large headphones (Sennheiser, AKG, etc)
