I was going to put this in the Android thread but this is actually a pretty big annoucement with regards to honeycomb tablets and features. The other thread seems more focused on phones.

I was pretty eager to see this after they showed it at CES. That 800 price tag is a drag. I was actually thinking about getting the Xoom. Still might but that is pretty steep.

"Tablet PC" has been around since windows XP (or i should say 'Longhorn') was beta, the manufacturers never produced them. the touchscreen technology went instead into making point of sale terminals.
as far as "new", the new is makers figuring out how to make them affordable, and turning loose their marketing departments on the public.
