Help with ps3

I use the PS3 HDMI cable on my flat screen tv. And my tv won't show on the screen whatever is on the ps3 screen, I can hear the noise of the profile selection area and the tv says 480x720(I've had trouble getting it to 1080 before), but I can't see the screen. Wtf do I do?

Turn off the power to your PS3 and then turn it back on again. But when you turn it on, hold down the power button until you see something on the screen.

Was it working before? If possible try a different hdmi cable and try another hdmi device (laptop, etc) to see if it is the cable, tv, or ps3.

e: If the two above posts don't work try what I said.

You prolly need to reset the Playstation resolution options, just hold down the power button for like 5 seconds till it beeps, see if that works.

Sounds like the resolution needs to be reset. Turn off the PS3, then turn it back on and keep the power button held down until it beeps.

remove the hard drive and plug it into your computer.

Create a new text document on the hard drive titled resolution.bat.

Edit the text document so it only says 1920x1080.

Reinsert the hard drive and reboot your PS3.

I dunno if anyone else mentioned it already, but you should hold down the power button.

After it beeps throw it out the motherfucking window while screaming GAAAHHHHHHH!

PS3 has no games so you're not missing anything.
