Seems a little pointless if you're just guessing all the time.Finray wrote:

That's how I roll baby
couple of times I got it first shot anyway.

76 on the first try. No clue what I was doing though.
83 on the second try. Still no clue what I was doing.

Got 64. Broke my brain in the process.
Wind fucking sucks. wtfpresidentsheep wrote:
Roughly guessing the eastern component of the wind, using some trig and rounding. It kinda works. Not well though.

The way I was working it out is:
Target seems roughly 2 dots high?
Target is 72" tall, so (72*27.778)/2 = 1000 roughly
1000= 35.6 MOA
so I go round that scope twice and go to 7.5 roughly
bullet lands at about double the targets height.
I know the range cant be 1000, seems to be about 700 ish. Guessing i'm going wrong with the dots thing?
This "game" is more ubergeek than anything. With the title, I expected something like this Flash sniper game instead of a long range shooting simulator with math.11 Bravo wrote:

82 first try.
Touched the dials once, then just adjusted the scope till it hit. :<

I have no idea of what I'm doing but I guess I did ok
I once read somewhere that you should take the height of the target in cm, multiply by 1000 and divide by the height of the target in mils. I was still clueless on this one.
And above your tomb, the stars will belong to us.
if you're ranging in meters the formula would be the (height or width of the target in meters X 1000) / height or width of the target in mils.-Sh1fty- wrote:

example: you're preparing to shoot a libyan dictator at an unknown distance but you happen to know he's exactly 177.8 centimeters tall. well, he's as good as dead. He's just standing around chattin' with his libyan buddies, so you measure him from head to toe through your high-powered scope; he's 2.7 mils tall. Now we've got all the info necessary.
(1.778meters X 1000) / 2.7 = 658.5 meters. He's standing 658.5 meters away. check your range card, adjust your dope and send one down range.
Got to E with 30 and stopped... most boring game involving shooting evar...
Your thoughts, insights, and musings on this matter intrigue me
If you read it, it's not meant to be a game, it's a simulation to help long range shooting
