okay.
i have a text rendering thing that finray hooked me up with ages ago that renders text in the same way that OSX does (i.e. nicer).
i'd highly recommend it, too, but i recommend just getting a mac with OSX really because the shit doesn't WORK in ff4 without giving you a headache

you can use any browser you want on mac osx you dumb-shit.
not that you'd need to considering how fucking blisteringly fast safari is with the 64-bit total os integration into snow leopard +

Is there a way to have the menu bar like in FF3 without it looking like shit in FF4? Personas don´t work, they annoy me.
Yea last i checked Safari had some solid speed. http://clients.futuremark.com/peacekeeper/index.actionUzique wrote:

The tabs are not below the firefox button when not maximised.
The firefox button is no longer old looking.
What you highlighted is my windows theme.
For comparison:

Ah. I see. If I weren't on my lappy (where it's always maximized) I would have prolly noted that.

i'm liking it, so far. almost all my FF3 add ons came over. it is faster . . .
Anyone that is here a lot should have bbcode xtra burnzz. I've setup customs for [gal]…[Youtube] [video]… [mp3] [imgl] .. and others. It makes quick work out of posting here.

... than firefox 3, yeah, but still slower than chrome and opera. horribly so.burnzz wrote:

no thx, i'll stick with chrome for now.
if you open your mind too much your brain will fall out.
tbh, i see no difference in speed between them all.Shahter wrote:

probably. the difference won't really be visible on any modern pc i guess. what i've been testing it on was your average (probably, bellow average) office pc-es we use at work - the difference is immediately obvious.tazz. wrote:

say hello to 90mb of ram used for an extraordinary task of showing one bf2s page (and i'm pretty sure i turned all of its bells and whistles off).

At work, the only browser we will support is IE 8. even though 9 comes with the first round of updates on a clean install.
same here, updating it via wsus is a nice feature. we only install different shit here if ie gives compatibility issues with a site that's really needed.burnzz wrote:

p.s. ram usage went up to 116mb, and i didn't even touch the bloody thing (posting via chrome). no, thanks, i'll pass on firefox this time.

you sure know how to put things in perspective, burnzz.
p.s. you aren't being sneaky with 64-bit ie our there, are you? not like it would matter much, but still - 64-bit apps are generally more ram hungry.

On browser speed tests FF fares considerably slower than Opera and Chrome. FF4 wasn't a step forward for Mozilla, but rather just a new name for the same browser with the same problems.tazz. wrote:
