Because Obama's policies have added 35% of the federal debt in three years, with no real progress on the root problems. The people have realized (and I think the Administration has, too) that he can't blame the previous Administration for his and Congress' failures any longer. They own it.

By supporting particular political candidates?

You have gone off the deep end with this conspiracy theory.

Its not a conspiracy though. It doesn't take a lot of leg work to see the consistency in the transition of public officials to the private consulting/lobbying sector. There's plenty of instances of public officials being rewarded with cushy jobs in the same industry they were involved in crafting legislation for/about after leaving politics.

Jay, newbie, etc, stop trying to remove the symbolic meaning of the action. No, it's not just 'a bit of salty water that will wash off' - it's a blatant celebration of death, a show of domination. It's similar to sticking their heads on a stick and using it as a trophy. That's why people are upset by it.
No, it isn't comparable to permanent mutilation and trophy taking. And I'm not trying to remove the symbolic meaning of the action, so stop trying to stuff words into my mouth. It's just too mild to merit a life-crushing court martial. Bust them down, reassign them, whatever.

There's a difference between being hired in a given industry/lobby for your knowledge and actively working to help that industry/lobby while in service/office in the hopes of landing said gig, which is what Dilbert was claiming as the norm. The latter is illegal, and the former has severe constraints on how long you have to wait and who you can work for after leaving office/service.

Happens every day though, and vice-versa - industry lobby groups get their man into govt positions.

Like I said, you're so used to moral bankruptcy you can't even see it now.

Iraq and Afghanistan were Bush's wars. Now the Republicans are talking up fighting Iran. That is the elephant in the room that nobody wants to discuss.

As if fighting in another front and then potentially further in Pakistan is what the country needs right now.

well yes and no. i mean you could say that for maybe france, germany, italy or nearly anyone else actually, but the UK has always been quite happy to have a good armed forces and do it's own thing. i saw something about french people being mad because they have a whole 3000 people involved in afghanistan, not 3000 people actually there. so yeh, fuck france
