Highly doubt you care what God can or cannot lift. As to the other valid options, here's one. God is not just omnipotent, He is also just and loving. His commandments are reflections of His own character.AussieReaper wrote:
What other valid options are there?
Or can you at least answer a fairly simple question:
Can God create a rock so heavy that even He could not lift it?

No, you assume to much. Restating Plato overlooks other valid options regarding God and His decisions.AussieReaper wrote:
So you're saying that there are no moral standards other than God's will: without God's commands, nothing would be right or wrong?
So thinking of God as a wise and rational being, one who always acts on good reasons only, is false. Because the acts first and the reason becomes good afterwards.
And you're also arguing that that anything could become good, and anything could become bad, merely upon God's command.
If God had so decided, then an action which is right today could easily become wrong tomorrow, if God so decides. He could make rape a completely morally right thing to do, for instance.
If all morality is a matter of God's will, then if God does not exist, there is no morality. Everything is permissible.
You don't see a problem in any of the above?
Or can you at least answer a fairly simple question:
Can God create a rock so heavy that even He could not lift it?

I was raised Baptist. Since Born Agains fall under their banner, yes, they are religious fanatics.-Sh1fty- wrote:
I'll assume you guys are excluding Baptists from "Religious fanatics" as you aren't stupid. Since all of you obviously haven't got a clue about them I know you aren't stupid enough to bash something you don't know a darn thing about
