I used to be in to BF2 in a massive way, but life, work, moving house blar blar blar meant I had a little break.

I have gone to install the game again but my disc keeps shutting down before the install is complete, saying theres an error.

Anyone got any ideas?

I can't see it being the disc fault, as I've only ever used it once before from new.

My machine allows to me to update load other games that I've recently gone back to, COD4, BF2 BC and so on so I don't think its a setting problem.

Any ideas?

What did the error say?

It literally says "Failed to install battlefield 2, try again from the begining" No code or failed warning nothing

hmm

Not sure if this'll work but try copying the data from the disks into a single folder on your PC and then run setup.exe from there.

Same thing kinda happened to me today. Only I couldn't get the setup to run from the cd. I installed BF2 multiple times before the past few days from the cd (BF2 would always crash after it launched). Then today the setup just quit when it started to do anything. Turns out tech support thought it was a problem with the cd and gave me a copy of Battlefield The Complete Collection through EA Download Manager. Installed successfully and it launched the first time I tried it. I'd probably go to tech support if you have done all you can think of, that is what I did.
