I take all of these shows with a grain of salt. If you seen my library you'd know that I'm decently read in history.Macbeth wrote:
The Tudors are good. You can't use it as a reference for the time period obviously but it's a decent show.
Rome is probably the most accurate. Understand that all of these shows have to add a little flair to them to maintain the attention of the average viewer. For instance we really don't know much about the two main character in Rome, Titus Pullo and Lucius Vorenus . In fact the only mention of them in in Ceasar's Civil War. Just remember, it's entertainment.
ig, start with Rome. It takes about three episodes to hook you. I guarantee it will though. Plus it's only two seasons so you'll work through it in no time.
Deadwood starts off fast, but tends to fizzle midway through the series.
I haven't heard very many good things about The Tudors. I'm still going to give it a go though.

breaking bad's been on my netflix queue forever. also a huge mad men/killing/walking dead fan, so that's about the only AMC series i don't watch... i really should
well i already have deadwood on my comp so i guess im gonna start there
Also, if you're just looking for all out sex and violence give Spartacus a try. It doesn't quite have the writing quality of Deadwood and Rome though. Not at all...lol

ya i just finished spartacus a week or 2 ago
Like I said, I like the writing in deadwood. The dialogue goes from the most vile shit on earth to quoting Wordsworth. .. trailing clouds of glorycoolstorybro wrote:

The word "fuck" was said 43 times in the first hour of the show.[8] It has also been reported that the series had a total count of 2,980 "fucks" and an average of 1.56 utterances of "fuck" per minute of footageKmar wrote:

lol
cocksucker is another favorite. There was a lot of cursing during the time period the series portrays. They were however different words than what we are now used to. The producer wanted to convey the idea of foul language, but with dialogue more familiar to the viewer.

Here's a funny story. My mom used to drive a gold Nissan Altima. One day, she went outside and discovered that her car had been stolen. She called the police and after a few days of waiting, she decided she couldn't wait any longer and had me drive her down to the car dealership to buy herself a new car. What did she buy? A new gold Nissan Altima. Fine, whatever, she liked the car a lot and decided to buy it's clone as a replacement. A few days later, she stops off at the supermarket that is behind our house on her way home from work. She parks next to a gold Nissan Altima and a light bulb suddenly goes off in her head. Her car hadn't been stolen, she'd simply walked home from the supermarket and forgotten that she had driven there. Yes, she is blonde.Gooners wrote:

I really like the EB farnum character.. the snake that he is.
Mr E.B.Farnum with his poetic take on Mrs. Alma Garret ; "A hawdy cunt...formerly weak for dope, most fundamentally a sexual peckant -though I'm sworn against providing specifics
Could you have been born, Richardson? And not egg-hatched as I've always assumed? Did your mother hover over you, snaggle-toothed and doting as you now hover over me?
I think he had the shits..lolAllow me a moment's silence Mr Hearst, sir, I'm having a digestive crisis and must focus on repressing it's expression.
Hearst... is he Caesar? To have fights to the death for diversion, murder his workers at whim, smash passages in the fucking wall? A man of less wealth would be in fucking restraints!

Cops in my hometown are incredibly lazy. They don't even set speed traps or fuck with the illegals. The only time you see them outside of the station is when they have to pull parade dutyKmar wrote:

"or fuck with the illegals" Police in my area are kinda aggressive and they don't do this. Isn't there also laws in NYC that protect illegals?
