hi yall, i have a canon MF4270 (B/W) that is connected to a computer running XP.  i have been using this rather old computer for a while now as my personal print/TS/ventrilo server with no issues.  i also have a color printer that prints just fine, both as a shared network printer and as a local printer.  the MF4270, however, will not print as either.  i have tried printing off of two computers running windows 7 and two running windows xp.

it ends up putting the print job in the document queue, but then a popup appears telling me the printer couldnt print.  for more info, use the troubleshooter.  well all the fucking troubleshooter does is ask me if the printer is plugged in and other bullshit.

things i've tried:
- restarted the computer the printer is connected to and the computer i am attempting to print from
- turned off the printer, disconnecting the USB cable to the computer as well; turned it back on
- reinstalled printer drivers
- bashed head repeatedly against printer

Did you try a self-diagnosis?

Start>Run>services.msc  Find "Print Spooler" and Stop, then Start it. Test printing.

Start>Settings>Printers & Faxes.
From there click on File>Server Properties. In the Drivers tab click on the one for your Canon printer and remove it.
Restart the computer, then re-install the driver. Test printing.

still having this problem after connecting it to a computer with a clean windows 7 installation and being fed drivers (for Win7 x64).  anyone have ideas?  the documents just sit there in the print queue, and the printer doesn't bother to print them.
