Good to know.

I don't think people know the name, all it says is that someone added you to their circles.
Re: circles within circles: I've got one for e-friends (wow that sounds incredibly nerdy), and it'd be nice to say where they came from, as opposed to having a bunch of different base-circles.

I saw some high profile techies starting hangouts to show people how to develop chrome extensions. I like the idea of hangouts for things like that (education). I think google should allow more people to lurk tho.. I understand limiting it for video and such.

e:kmar...the M could stand for many things. If you had the circle within a circle feature you could sort it out.

Surely I'm in one or two dilf circles.

Wait, it's not normal to have an Online Friends circle?
I don't know you. You're all imaginary people in my magic box.

I gotta say I like sharing/posting on google+ way better than fb. It's just so much easier to share with certain people.. or absolutely everybody (like twitter) if you want. I am however really surprised to see people like Kevin Rose redirecting their sites to their google+ profiles already. That takes quite a bit of confidence for well known techies like him.
But FB is where the crowd is at, and I doubt that will change anytime soon.

"To find our desired list, again we select “Specific People…“ (1), which shows an empty text entry field. As we start typing “f” for family (2), Facebook is nice enough to show us friends with first or last names that contain the letter “f”. Note that I have so many friends with that letter that in none of the choices my family Friend List shows up. After typing a bit more, “fa” (3), we still see other friends but at the bottom of the choices we finally see our family Friend List. Finally we select it (4) and our family list is added to the field."Kmar wrote:

Oh my god you have to type 2 letters until you "finally" see what you're looking for at the bottom.
Rofl.
But really, it still seems like the exact same thing, but slightly more straight forward to use.
Are you on google+. Because it is more than slightly more straight forward. The article made a good point. There's a reason most people on FB don't use or even know about list.DefCon-17 wrote:

Yes, but I haven't bothered much with it yet.Kmar wrote:

It's just much easier man. I'd be surprised if FB didn't learn from this and try to incorporate something similar for sharing.

For a more reasonable analysis of how Google+ handles your rights, check out this post by photographer Jim Goldstein. It’s much more deserving of your eyeballs.Hurricane2k9 wrote:

Question about notifications.
What if I only want to be notified when someone comments on one of my photos? In other words I may comment on a popular photo in someone elses stream, and I don't want a thousand notifications after I comment. But I would like to get notified when someone comments on one of my pics.

.. also, the same thing goes for any comment actually.
Is it possible to edit individual notifications for each circle. I don't want a notification every time someone makes a comment on something in the "Following" circle, because my notification will essentially blow up.
btw the keyboard shortcuts are a good way to get from one post to another when there are a bunch of comments (press J and K)

I will. I just thought I'd verify I wasn't missing anything first.

It really needs more people, but so far there have been 4-5 of my friends joining up each day. Give it a month or two and hopefully it won't be so... so... boring
The main reason I'll be using g+ is because I claimed my gplus.to/___ url early and could get my name pure and simple.
gplus.to/david.annez
Don't really see the point in it though... Seeing as nobody is using it.
