@DF kind of, but it was a few cops in a big crowd that was getting unruly. My dad lives around there, trust me the cops need to keep people in line around there.

Yeah, if that crowd thought they could just walk all over them they would have been in trouble. The impression I got though was that the crowd thought the guy was a tool and wanted him to get his ass kicked so they encouraged him to go at the cop. Especially since after they kept the crowd back and away from the cops.

I noticed that. It could have gone further downhill fast. Actually charges could be brought up on the guy with the camera egging on the man to fight the LEO. Are they permitted tasers in DC? Dang... They totally lost control of the situation there.

Cops do have tasers yeah. We actually have pretty shitty law enforcement, or more accurately a shitty court system. Drug crimes = hard time, violent crimes = meh. If you're under 18 that's a get out of jail free card, so if you wanna rob rape or kill just do it before you become that magic number.

The crowd egging the guy on to fight so he gets his ass kicked is fine, but the officer threw the first blow, which seems rather irresponsible. If I'm not mistaken, you're supposed to be calm and professional while keeping the peace. If they want to arrest him, that's fine. However, starting a fistfight or street brawl seems contary to maintaining the integrity of the police department.

They are also human beings that are not immune to being tempted into a fight. The other guy was circling him like he was going to do something, he said he was going to do something. I give the officer props for just popping him, dropping him and cuffing him.

They're supposed to resist that urge as much as possible. Reminds me of all the people on COPS who are yelling in the officers face and he just responds in a normal voice with something like "Sir, would you mind calming down?" That sort of thing makes it hard cause you want to punch some smartmouth in the jaw, but you gotta take the high road.
