When I run regsvr32 it tells me

"The module 'd3d10.dll" was loaded but the entry-point DllRegisterServer was not found."

Make Sure that 'd3d10.dll' is a valid DLL or OCX file then try again."

Regsvr32.exe was unable to find the required entrypoint in the module specified in the command line. This can occur if the entrypoints are not properly exported from the module or if the module is not a .DLL or .OCX file.

Seems like that DLL is completely hosed.

i dunno lol. You installed the latest directx, that did not work (http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/de … &id=35)? The only other thing I can think is in addition to C:\Windows\System32 a 64bit copy should be put it in C:\Windows\SysWOW64 (64bit system).

Worth noting the one in system32 is not the same as the one in SysWOW64. The one in SySWOW64 is .98MB and the one in System32 is 1.20MB. Chances are it could be other assemblies it depends on are missing as well.

I just looked, I don't have a d3d10.dll in SysWOW64.

There's a d3d10_1.dll in SysWOW64, and it's only 158kb.

so that last download extracted a ton of cabs, you can see the ones for dx10. Extract those and right click on the inf and select install

I just did that.

d3d10.dll is still missing from sysWOW64, and I still cannot run dxdiag.

The ones from the cabs that were labeled x86 didn't work. I am running a 64 bit Win7 though, so I think they aren't supposed to install.

Okay, so I went into SysWOW64 on my other computer, and copied over d3d10.dll and d3d10core.dll and now everything works perfectly.
