I know it's a porn ad and before anyone bitches at me there's much worse on this site.

The question I have is: why does it think I'm in Berganfield? I live in Bayonne. Berganfield is nineteen miles away from where I live. This doesn't just happen with porn sites, google also list me as in Berganfield every so often. Regardless of whether I'm logged into my gmail account or not.

The only time I've ever been in Berganfield was when I fist signed up for this site and was dating that Filipino girl. She lived in Berganfield and I spent sometime out there but I never bought my laptop with me. I clear my cookies every two days also and I know my laptop is virus free.

So does anyone have any ideas as to why it insist on listing me as in Berganfield?

I live like 5 minutes from a bunch of big cities including New York City, Jersey City, Hoboken. Hell the place I live in has a bigger population than Berganfield so I doubt it'll be routed through there. Berganfield are just suburbs anyway.

It depends on what kind of database they use. Typically it's based on information that you or other people in your service area supplied to a site that then sold that information on to a geolocation service provider.

google never sucks at directions. where sat nav has failed me, google maps + google navigation on my driod has saved my ass more than once.

your ISP is routing it through there for some reason?

I used to live in a city and google and (all the porn sites) thought I lived in a city 8 miles away and I realized it was cause that's where my ISP was.

Just because the town doesn't have a large population doesn't mean that your ISP isn't routing traffic through there. In fact, your ISP might enjoy tax benefits (or simply cheaper land) for setting up business there. If it bothers you that much or if you're that curious, I would imagine the press department of your ISP would be more than happy to answer your question.
