Premiered tonight. Gotta say, I'll be sad to see them go... but the storyline ran out of steam a few years ago. Bob Saget talking about prostitutes was the shows summit.

It was, but the rest was pathetic, especially for a season premiere. There wasn't a single point where I said to myself "I wonder what's going to happen this season?" Nothing. Couldn't care less about any of the story lines except E's.

The last time I watched it Vince had just fired Ari...Not sure what season that is, but I stopped watching after that, I just kinda forgot.

I missed a few of the seasons in the middle. I too just... forgot.

Just watched the episode.

Was pretty terrible overall, and I wasnt expecting much going in.

Agree with you Your thoughts, insights, and musings on this matter intrigue me...E is terrible and really kills the show a lot of the time. They all just get so fucking upset about stupid shit. First seasons were so good

Where they lived in a perfect life and everything was great? C'mon you KNOW they couldn't keep that up for much longer. They had to add some lasting negativity to the show if they wanted it to run longer than 3 seasons. They had to make it more realistic so people could relate and want to keep watching. I agree the first seasons rocked but figure it like this: your favorite sports team all the sudden wins every single match by a complete blow-out. They win the championship at the end of the season and keep doing it over and over. It's awesome for a while then it gets old QUICK and you stop watching. They ultimately lose money and go bankrupt because all their fans got bored....

Anyway, the episode was pretty half assed to me but I understand why. They wanted to get over the whole Vince and cocaine/drug/alcohol problems they invented last season because they've only got 8 episodes to wrap up every story line in the show they've started that hasn't ended or has lose ends. They can't go deep into any plots because they have to finish them in 7 episodes or less.

Sucks for the viewers I guess.

Love the show but I agree. It's gone downhill over the past 2 seasons or so. Everything post Scorsese offering Gatsby to Vince didn't really do anything to me.

They went about making the show 'serious' or whatever in basically the worst way possible. They had what, 4? 5? different story threads each episode (when the episodes are 20 minutes long) so everything was really fragmented. Also, all the arcs last season were either stupid (Sasha Grey, drug problem) or were full of fake drama (ie. the tequila crap - "sell my tequila" "WTF WHY DID YOU SELL IT ASDASDASDA").

Since the first episode the forced Vince drama was always the worst part of the show and season 7 had it leak into the other good parts of the show (which to be honest is really only turtle/drama stuff and Ari. E is terrible). They show was managing pretty well up until season 7 (or perhaps whenever Vince became financially comfortable) and then it just kind of got confused and tried to get all serious. I havent been watching it since whatever year it started though, so I dont have 5 years of watching it to get me bored I suppose.
