Good to see this weeks episode continued the downward trend.

The plot was literally that, again. Oh no Vince might get caught with weed in his system, the movie is off. Faked his urine test, movie is back on! *scene in some expensive house/restaurant where they talk about how they are back on top and are awesome*

Walsh/Ari are the only two interesting characters, I guess because they dont get enough time to become boring.

This show, and Rescue Me... both shows know it's their final season and neither shows writers put any effort whatsoever into giving them a proper send-off.

HBO shows series tend to have terrible endings. Oz with the chemicals and bomb. Sopranos with the instant blackout. etc.

It wouldn't surprise me if they end the series with a plane crash or something else stupid.

Only HBO shows I have watched from start to finish is The Wire, Rome and Generation Kill. I thought they all had really good endings. But obviously that is a small sample and you seem to have seen more (or specific ones with worse endings).

I haven't seen The Wire, but the other two had predetermined end points. Unless it's a sitcom, open ended series generally end badly (See: Lost)

I thought Lost was always meant to go for 5 seasons (or however many it did)? But yeh, open ended series do often end badly. Mainly because American TV shows generally are dictated by popularity and will keep running until they start losing viewers (and are not good anymore).

So for some reason HBO On Demand had episode 7 on. Watched it... a bombshell (or bombshells I guess) but nothing that would make you think it was the 2nd to last episode of the series ever. What the fuck.

I hope the ending continues/rumor of an Ari spinoff is true. He was the ONLY reason why this season didn't completely suck.
