psch, I don't think driving in a hurricane for my first drive in America would be too smart!

Good thing is if I make it to Newark, there's a shuttle bus put on by the programme for us, so I don't need to worry about getting a cab or train.

Also I read that they've been busy clearing out NYCs sewer system to avoid floods, so it might not be too bad

Almost all houses in the villages here are made of wood and sit on wooden stilts, even most of them can survive a cat 1, the locals just put some shutters up when the times comes. I really wouldn't worry.

The primary difference is your weak trees are culled more often by storms. Tree downings are the primary damage we suffer.
