Tried them, they're nice, but for a bit more you can get a lot more quality out of earphones. They cost about £40 here, so for like £5 - £15 more you get a lot better quality.Jaekus wrote:
Ok, I'm looking for some decent IEMs.
I saw some Klipsch S3s at JB Hifi this evening, I pondered but didn't purchase as I wanted to do some research first and I doubt they'll let me try them out before buying, due to hygiene concerns. Anyone had any experience with these?
Anything in particular? Seems I'm a little limited for choice. Saw some TDK, Sony, Pioneer, Sennheiser and AKG IEMs. The rest I'm not gonna bother naming.
Why are you limited for choice, Jaekus? I named a good number of ones that hit your price range and rape all the brands you just named.Jaekus wrote:

Because I want to buy them this week and those brands are all that the local store had on offer.
Maybe I need to find a new store...

Or you could buy them online, wait just a few more days for expedited shipping and get them Monday! To be honest, for anything like this you take your time over it, for a lot of people it's a decent chunk of cash to spend on earphones, and you should choose the best one for you.Jaekus wrote:

Buying from stores is:
A. Going to cost you more than what they are worth
B. Going to be a lot harder to find good quality for the money
Yeah that is true.
I really need them to be here by Tuesday at the ABSOLUTE latest, otherwise it's a little pointless. The reason being I'm flying out Wednesday morning and I want good IEMs with excellent noise cancellation for the flight over.
I'm pretty set on making a purchase ASAP, after reading reviews and with a guarantee it can be in Australia, at my door by Tuesday at the latest (current time here is 11:15pm, Thursday Aug 4).

Damn, if it was a day earlier I would have shipped you some of our earphones and you would have gotten them by Tuesday, but it's a bit late now.Jaekus wrote:

Sucks that Australia is no on the fucking Royal Mail Airsure list, but New Zealand is. What fail.
Ahhh... oh well, not to worry. I've been reading the reviews and was about to make a choice
So I looked around locally and the same place I got my AD700s from sells the Brainwavz M2s. After reading a number of reviews and weighing up my options, I placed an order. With express post they guarantee they will be here Tuesday.
I don't really get why you need them for the flight though. When flying I just wear my over ear headphones. I'd never wear them in public, but on a place I figure who cares if I look like an asshole. Also, they seriously cut down on noise if you just want to sleep.
I prefer something more compact that I can tuck into a jacket pocket than a set of headphones. Just works for me I guess.
Too bad they didn't have the M3's. They are some great earphones for the price and a lot better than the M2's.Jaekus wrote:

A good set of in-ears with a proper seal will isolate better than closed headphones.ghettoperson wrote:

Right now i have senny earbuds, just some cheap ones (MX740s, only 20euros) now i would like to upgrade. I lost the original rubber rings and now i had to replace em with some large dics things that also came with it that make it look like those flashing sentry things from hl2 and its pretty uncomfortable (sightly better isolation though)
Now, i like earbuds, but IEM nare just so much better. problem is that i have pretty small ears and whenever i use IEM (i have only tried a few) it feels like im trying to rape my virgin ear using sand as lube.
What IEM would you suggest for someone that generally has a bad experience with the comfort of IEMs? (some good earbud are also okay, but nor preferred)
Price range is around 50euros i guess.

I did read some reviews. At this time the money:experience with IEMs ratio is good I feel. I think I will be happy with the M2s and when I upgrade I will appreciate it more.Zimmer wrote:

BTW, I was on the verge of getting a pair of your headphones from your site. Obviously I'm not expecting you to say anything otherwise, but do you think those are the best IEM you'll get for the money? I realise you're making your website around the principle of only selling great products, but I guess I've got to ask.
I suffer literally the same problem. I don't have really small ears, but the canals aren't perfect so when I put in IEMs I've had trouble with them staying in and being comfortable.Kampframmer wrote:

However, the ones we stock right now (Frogbeats) I've never had a problem with them staying in. They go just deep enough with the bi-flanges to seal out any noise but not too deep to irritate my ears. They're small so they don't irritate the cartilage around my ears as well.
We've got other stuff coming in next week, DUNU stuff to be exact, but the Sunrise Audio hits your price range perfectly and have received glowing reviews across the board.
@ Ghetto - At the end of the day, that's a matter of preference. I'm going to be honest with you, they are on the same level as many of the same price... But it's your subjective opinion which in the end decides if they are the best or not. It will be argued till the cows come home that they could be better than the HiFiman RE-0's, the Brainwavz M3's or that they are ever so slightly worse.
The one thing that will be agreed on, though, is that build quality is probably the best out of the lot. Full aluminium housings and a solid cable. The soundstage also rapes the M3 and RE-0. However some people like the lushness of the M3's mids or the slightly lighter bass on the RE-0's.
It's up to you man, I won't try and sell them to you because there are plenty of reviews out there saying how good they are. You can make your own decision. But what I can promise is a discount + a money back guarantee if you're not happy with them. Liquidat0r bought 2 about 4 weeks ago and is absolutely loving them. If you're thinking of an upgrade these babies will blow your mind.
Our principles still stand and we will always be selling the best of the best. Of course, that is subjective, but I've got a few professional reviewers checking out all our products before we sell them, so we know what they are worth.
I was worried that no one would get my problem, because so far all the people i know irl with IEMs are very happy about them and say they cant go back to buds, so they'll give me a weird look whenever i tell them that i think theyre uncomfortable.Zimmer wrote:

Now i assume youre talking about the Xcited, given that the other one goes a bit too much over my price range (about 10euros)
They Xcited seem pretty good to me. Might have to order some to replace my cheap sennies.
I'll pm you about it.

I totally understand the fit problems. With some of the best IEMs you can get I can't wear them due to the sizing of my ears (which is why I am going custom... but a bit out of your budget ). I'm very happy with how the Xcited and Xcape fit (they are identical in shape) and would recommend the fit to nearly anyone. Actually got a pair sitting right in front of me and was testing them out so I could give you a more accurate response. The flanges are just the right softness without being too hard or too soft and I personally use the bi-flanges because I like a deeper fit... but entirely up to you which you choose. If fit is a problem then you can always send them back or consider buying Comply Foam Tips (I'll find out what model you need for the Sunrise Audio).Kampframmer wrote:

PM'ed.
thanks again for the help.
I personally prefer em pretty shallow (not as shallow as buds though). I tried a few different sized caps with some senny IEM and the dre beats from friends of mine. They both had these really long ones (especially the dre beats) that consisted of multiple small caps, and well a first glance they looked like a kinky toy for ear sex. Needless to say, with my ears, that wasnt to enjoyable. Couldnt even get the damn things in my ear properly, felt like i was going to touch my brain if i pushed em in all the way.

Do not advertise. Ever.
You might be best with foam earbuds in the end then. Not sure if you've ever tried them. Most audiophiles do choose foam over silicone because silicone can be quite sibilant. You do sacrifice a bit of the mids and trebles with foam but you usually get a punchier bass.Kampframmer wrote:

The only problem is that they wear out after a while.
You could also look into the Sony Hybrids (EP-EX10A Replacement Eartips) a lot of people prefer them due to their softer silicone but rigid core and they are supposed to be great. Haven't tried them though.
Cheers for the heads up ig.
I'll prbably buy a pair of IEMS from your store, see how they fit. If tehy dont fir properly, i'll look into some replacement (foam) caps.Zimmer wrote:

would be nice if you could offer foam-tip/cap replacements/options, zimmer, they're always nice. one of the reasons i always bought shure was because they always delivered a nice foam-tip pack and some of them fitted my ears like peeeerfectly.

Any earphone that wont break at the plug? Like it seem all the pair i had so far all had the same problem where i had to move the connector alot to have sound in both ears, like if the wire were damaged and made bad connection most of the time.
Having a hard time explaining it, but im sure some of you will understand.
Thanks!
