I used this tutorial here.

http://www.android-x86.org/documents/installhowto

I do everything as instructed by i just end up with black screen. Android wont boot. It's like it goes through the procedures but wont full boot. Any idea's?

I have 3 partitions

1 - System Reserved
2 - C Drive for my laptop shit
3 - Then random 20GB's listed as drive A for android

I just wanted to try it out. Im too poor to buy a tablet so i'm gonna go the poor man route and play around on it with my laptop.

not to side track helping with the issue, but why not try it in a vm first (i.e. virtualbox)? Once you full screen it with a bridged connection you would never know it was not the only thing on there.

yes. i'm running XP virtually on win 7. windows 7 leverages your cpu's ability to run things virtually.

You think that will fix my problem with the Android OS not booting up?

no, you'd have to install microsoft virtual pc first.

No but you could recreate it the issue.

Sorry but VirtualPC is utter shit compared to vmware desktop or virtual box (which is free as well). Shame they never got it right.

i believe you, but virtual pc came pre-installed on our dell boxes. i never configured vmware outside of a server, or tried virtual box.

besides, under anything but Micro$oft virtual pc, you'd need a separate key for the XP install. no big deal, until you look at 250 machines.

d/l virtual box now, i've got a couple of machines i could try it on.

I like Virtual machine. Really easy to use. I got it working on that. But it's a shit OS to play around with on pc I know i wasn't expecting perfection.
