I have that done every eye exam (checks the pressure of your eye). Don't even notice it anymore.

$1000 an eye is what's advertised on the radio. It's still an elective surgery. Personally, I wouldn't use it to correct minor problems until I knew more about it and have had a chance to read all the disclaimers.

It's not like it's new, either. Well over ten million have been performed since the procedure was approved for use, with a 95+% satisfaction rate among patients. Even with a high success rate, with that number of procedures performed, there will be a decent number of "horror stories" out there. But the numbers are still on your side if you get it done.

lol I watched the whole scene, I don't know what's more ridiculous: an eye surgery laser that can cut through your hand, an eye surgery laser that can even go over 5mW, or exterior glass that shatters like that when someone trips into it:

It was a needle, which only makes it worse

Step one: crawl into the dark machine
Step two: the screws go tight, all around
Step three: cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in your eye
Step four: she'll be waiting

Also thanks for reminding me, I wasn't planning on sleeping tonight or anything like that anyway -.-

You'd be surprised how high that is for a surgical procedure success rate.

Still a good number of horror stories out there that I'd think twice. It's not always blinding, either. With some people, it improves their near vision but kills their far vision and vice-versa. It's still an elective surgery and you still take a risk, even if it's low.

nexus you have to ask yourself if it's worth the risk, if your life is severely affected by it and it's that bad then do it.

if glasses work alright and you can good then don't do it.

just my 2 cents.

I'm sure, this is why I avoid surgical procedures and Doctors.

For me, my eyesight is good enough with glasses, for much of my work and pastimes I'd need to wear safety glasses if I weren't already wearing polycarbonate prescription glasses, outside those situations wearing glasses has saved my eyesight enough times that I'm pretty comfortable wearing glasses all the time. For me there is no value in not wearing glasses.

You're lucky, I'm +7.50/+7.50.  I get double vision without glasses/contacts anytime I try to focus (left eye is lazy).  I too wish I was able to wake up and see past one foot from my face...

Contacts are pretty awesome though, so glad I did them.

Mine's worse than top's...and they are. That's why I wear contacts.

I was thinking sometime in the future getting eye surgery.  I am legally blind and would love to be able to swim and stuff like that without worry of hitting something I can't see.  I have 20/300 visions and legally blind is 20/200.  I can't read anything until its just inches from my face.  But, they have glass and contacts for my vision which is amazing.
