So I want to water cool the hd 6990 and i would like to know do i use the same water cooling block from the cpu?
Won't that make the card get hotter since the water coming out from the cpu is not cold but warm?

That's why some people have a separate loop for  CPU, GPU.

You'd probably be ok putting them in the same loop if there's only one graphics card.

Ok, I only have 1 6990, you think it would be enough?
I mena the card gets really hot with the fans, peaks at 88°-90° at full stress.

i bet it gets pretty loud too, thats typical high end amd cards, if u ask me

am thinking of playing with water too..its all about thermodynamics. i have 0 experience though..lol.
the thought of having the cpu and the multiple gpus makes me sick.. as long as it is one gpu, i think it will be ok. try to seach on the net and see how others solved the problem with the 6990. i bet they get half of the 88°-90° under load... without the bloody noisy stock fan lolol

I'm looking at people who installed a water block on the 6990 but can't find any of them.

Go to www.xtremesystems.org check the liquid cooling section there. Its about the wattage of heat you need to dissapate not the heat, because you have 2 gpus at 88 degrees with the 6990, not one. That being said the easiest to build and maintain would be a loop for just the card using a 240 or 360 swiftech rad that has the pump built in. Attach that to an EK or Koolance full cover block and you have a system thats as easy to remove as one of the corsair all in ones.

Basically you are looking at 300 bucks to quiet down a video card. If quiet is all you want, an arctic cooling accellero is far cheaper an easier. If you really, really want to get into watercooling, I can help, but the price is rarely worth the performance increase. Much more fun as a hobby, but they need to be maintained properly, which can be an annoyance.

that arctic cooler looks interesting.

let us know how it effects the temps and noise.

30-31°C at idle, 60-70°C Gaming.
Noise, can't even hear it.

about the size of a rice grain (cpu) or enough to just thinly spread over the whole die
