Tried ordering something from Macy's online. What a disaster. First it didn't apply the 25% discount so I had to call customer service in India to get it fixed. Turns out the order was an error and didn't go through their system correctly. They offered to reorder the item with the discount which made me happy but i still have 2 of the original bills sitting on my card's account activity along with the new correct bill. I tried logging onto macy's website to see if the new order showed up on my account but the site keeps crashing.

I am just going to wait and see if the two incorrect pending charges disappear and if the stuff shows up. worse case scenario is that I have to call American Express to cancel all the payments with Macy's and never shop there again.

Starting to get into a 'fuck macy's over' mindset. The order that was supposed to be canceled shipped anyway. The order that was corrected and sent by Macy's shipped the items in the wrong color. I have to take the stuff that shipped wrong back to Macy's, customer service said they will honor the return when it happens.

If they don't or try to give me store credit, I am going to put in a stop payment and amex can figure it out from there. I don't need $600 worth of luxury towels.

My Nexus 5x bricked itself. Seems TONS of them are doing it and if you are 1 month out of warranty, Google and LG will tell you to shove the phone up your ass.

I'm on Google Fi so I have to have 1 of 3 expensive phones to have any service so if I want a phone I had better shell out $200-$800 right now.

Went from $93 /mo with Verizon to $35 /mo, but it seems now I'm experiencing the huge drawback.

Got a NEST fire alarm from my dad. It is one of those fancy ones from google that connect to your phone. It is in the hallway near my bathroom.


I took a shower and walked over to my bedroom still naked when the fire alarm starts blaring. The fire alarm panicked when it detected the steam from the bathroom.

$100 smart alarm can't tell the difference between smoke and water vapor.

I installed it literally yesterday. It is brand new. I think it is just very sensitive.

Good way to waste money.

Yep, that's how it is.
Those smoke detector use a light beam (or less often ionizing radiation from an Americium isotope) to detect smoke particles getting into the beam.
Droplets in water vapor act the same way.

In wet rooms you therefore would need a flame detector (optical sensor detecting specific wave lenghts of flames) or a heat detector (temperature sensor).
Of course, you could very well have suffocated from smoke of a smoldering fire, long before there are any visible flames or noticeable heat.

Anyway, I suggest placing the detector in the hallway (escape route) in front of your bedroom door.
If you have multiple stories, there should be one on each floor, in a central spot covering the escape routes.
