So I'm mediocre at best, always preferred to have my feet on the ground, but coz the helis/jets in this game are a bit easier I've decided I want to actually become decent at flying.

What's the best setup for keyboard, how do I get used to flying, what sort of maneuvers should I practice, etc?

Guide me BF3s.

When in general flight, use WASD and mouse. When you want to turn, bank to the side you want to turn, hold S and down on the arrow keys. Loops, S and down, without banking.

Best set up is ECM/Flares, Rocket Pods, Air Radar

I've been doing some reading and looking on youtube, it seems that either a joystick or controller is easier, as the stick returns to the neutral position whereas the keyboard/mouse combo means you have to right it yourself. Maybe that's a (small) part of my problem. That and lack of practice.

I'm not total noob, I can fly a chopper and land it at another location. I just fly the thing like a grandma

Know where the enemies are, very important imo.

I see a lot of pilots especially in choppers that fly straight towards an AA or ignore completely enemy choppers and instead focus on ground targets and then wonder how he got killed. Ground targets are the least important targets when there are enemy choppers and AA around. Go for the chopper first, then destroy the aa and then go for ground targets.

I can help make you a decent chopper pilot. I'm a pretty good chopper pilot myself.

Just don't listen to Camm and Fin. Those two twats can't fly them for shit.

So then ladies, when flying a jet/heli, sensitivity low or high? I'm thinking low, though I don't know how this will negatively affect manouverability.

High sensitivity.

Get a decent mouse with a high DPI if you're using Mouse and Keyboard.

I always prefer to use Extinguishers, myself. Laser-guided, cos I play with friends (SOFLAM) and Stealth.

And I am good.

don't listen to link he's awful ever

I have super low sensitivity for all games and it works just as well for bf3's vehicles

DPI is for mongs who buy expensive gaimer mice for their sweet gimmicks

i'e been on default sensitivity and it works find because you get used to whatever you use. i've had maybe 3-5 deaths from not being able to pull up quick enough that i could have avoided if i had a high sensitivity.

Meh, i use high sensitivity when i'm doing manuveurs but change to normal when i have to aim at far targets.

i have a button for that on my mouse but it's fixed to a certain dpi and that shit is mega low, too low for anything really. it gets pressed by accident and gets pressed to restore it to my default.

the slower you move your mouse the better you turn in vehicles

it's about consistency not how fast you do it

it's really counter-intuitive, but if you just slowly move your mouse consistently around you'll turn harder

Idk, I can't fly for shit with the mouse. Instead, I use the WASD key and the arrow keys. That's the only way I stay up in the air, not sure if that will work for you or not.

I have an MX Revolution, that's about as fancy as I want in a mouse.

I've tried using the mouse and have probs. The arrow keys seem a bit easier, but I'm unsure as to whether I should continue or just get better with a mouse. Or just use my PS-styled controller instead. Thoughts?
