Speaking of Poli Sci- my IPE paper length has been cut down from 15 pages to no more than 10. My professors said he doesn't want to have to read all these long papers from 90 students.

Try something in foreign policy. Better research base, better thesis prospects, easier to ask a 'why' question (total must).

Keep in mind this is a 100 level intro course, not a 300/400 level course.
There are not many good arguments for lowering the drinking age. 'If x is set at this age and y isn't ' is not a good argument. More people will die if you lower the age. If you try to approach from a evidence standpoint you will end boxing yourself into an line of thought that pushes all vices and other things to 21. The only way to argue the drinking age thing is from a rights standpoint. Good luck with that.
Immigration is always a hot domestic issue. Or perhaps health care.

Those both require you to make arguments that are based way more on philosophy and feelings than concrete data. Not easy and not fun.

Do some preliminary research and choose the topic with the most written about it. With any luck you'll see a debate between two or more camps form, and then you can justify one with refuting the others. Makes research papers 100x easier.
