Btw, I thought when I moved into this place that it was Rent Controlled. Turns out Rent Control ended in 1971 and everything is now Rent Stabilized. This just means that my rent can only be increased by whatever some group of bureaucrats decides is acceptable. So instead of living in a place where my landlord/lady feels bad about asking for more rent, I got a letter from my landlady informing me that I could accept the city dictated 3.7% increase in my rent or gtfo. Did we have 3.7% inflation last year? Fuck no.

Rent at my new place goes up once a year, usually about 3%. Try paying rent and a mortgage. Fucking sucks.

I lived at my old place for three years and my landlord didn't even try to increase it. 3%+ is absurd.
