Plenty of high class chinese restaurants owned by Chinese. Chinese students riding the metro as comfortably as any local. well post WWII we had tons and tons of them moving here (empire etc). made a significant contribution to the UK imo, wouldn't trade them for anything.

No. East Asian here means Chinese, Japanese, and Koreans. People from India are either called Indians or get lumped together with the Muslims and Arabs. Pakistanis along with Persians get lumped into the Arab/Muslim category too. The only time anyone refers to Indians as Asian is when they call them South Asians. But you will only really hear that in PC/academic setting. Whenever ever someone says "Asian" here they mean people with slanted eyes including Filipinos, Vietnamese, Koreans, etc.FatherTed wrote:
