Aww, Ernest Borgnine is dead. Saw him in Red a month or so ago. Good innings though.

You know I think one of the best things about her is that she has a husband who puts her in movies and makes her take her kit off all the time. Sharing is caring Paul W. S. Anderson and we thank you for it.

I'll always remember Ernest Borgnine most for this:
"Ah, you miserable creatures! You who think that you are so great! You who judge humanity to be so small! You who wish to reform everything! Why don't you reform yourselves? That task would be sufficient enough."

Though I imagine in younger generations he'll mostly be remembered for being Mermaid Man in Spongebob. That guy still cracks me up.

You can differentiate clips from magazines or drums by ear?

I am 100% sure the overwhelming majority of people my age and younger have no clue who this guy is and will not miss him.

Yes but that's because the overwhelming majority of people are wilfully ignorant towards anything that doesn't effect them directly. You try to engage them in a discussion about something and unless it's a topic they happen to be interested in you get nothing because they can't contribute anything. There's nothing wrong with a little general knowledge, so many people don't seem to have it and it's like talking to a brick wall.

I forgot what my point was. I think it was my general dislike of the people who say "who cares" to any news event, including the ol' celebrity death story. Some people do care, and they're generally the interesting ones.

Um not knowing a movie star whose career peaked several decades before you were born doesn't make you willfully ignorant. I also think you forget that people have interest different than you and that knowledge is relative.

Narcissism, it's the new Normal!

Ignorance, it's the new Intelligence!

It's interesting, the general obsession with being current and in the "now".
Seems to lead to a shallowness, a societal ADD/ADHD, a group amnesia towards the past, and (most frightening) a lack of critical analysis.

People expect their information in Wiki entries, or small sound bites - there's no nuanced analysis, just a surface scan and accept/reject on a predominantly emotional reaction.

An eloquent way of saying, "Hold my beer and watch this!"?

Though wouldn't it be, "Liquor is the confidence of fools"?

I know not what weapons World War III will be fought with, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.
