well as i mentioned in another thread, I'm decided on going back to school to get another degree. I'm debating whether to obtain a finance-related degree or enter an MBA program. Right now I've only talked to a UCLA counselor, as that's where i graduated from. I can get into their MBA program no problem, but the costs are pretty ridiculous compared to just obtaining another undergraduate degree (at least double costs for MBA as opposed to undergraduate degree). What should I do? Either way I'd probably need to take some additional coursework, but I'm not trying to finish either one in a year, so the timeline is a non-factor there.

Grad school is absurdly expensive but I don't see the point of getting a second undegrad degree though as you'd basically end up right where you are now. Undergrad business degrees are also a dime a dozen...

my company will offer me a $1500/year credit for any schooling I do, which would cover about 5% of the first year tuition in their fully employed MBA program. I've discussed this with a few of the execs at work, and they said they were open to suggestions. Probably along the lines of indentured servitude.
Idea behind getting a finance degree would be to allow me to get a Master of Finance degree, which is something I'm interested in. Not sure if I can even get in with a degree in International Relations.

I assume you would just have to take a semester or two of pre-reqs before going for a masters in finance. Macro and micro economics, statistics, probably some calculus. Finance is a little more math intensive than an MBA I think.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

yeah, i'll have to talk to the counselor again regarding pursuing a masters in finance. It is a little more math-centric, but nothing I can't handle. I've already taken statistics. Not really looking to be in the financial sector per se, but the end goal is running a business and having a masters in finance means you learn a lot of the business related aspects you'd get in a normal MBA plus finance. It's a great degree to have, but more importantly (for me) I'll learn a lot.

Fucking thing has been on the fritz. I dropped it once a while back and the DVD drive stopped being good for anything. Then the fans started running incredibly loudly, and I think the disc drive kept spinning up for no reason. Now one of the fans runs at like 1500RPM while the other runs at 6000RPM, which I believe is causing my latest problem: the fucking thing keeps overheating. I have four tabs open, a picture open, and iTunes open. The CPU is running at 111C because of all that undoubtedly difficult work. Eventually the laptop goes to sleep by itself, presumably to keep itself from damaging the CPU. Which is really fucking annoying when trying to watch a video.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:
