BF2S Forums Help get Black Mesa: Source on Steam

Depends how long the process takes.  It's a free mod anyway so it's not like they have to negotiate pricing or anything like that like some of the other games will need.

Worst case scenario: You just download it elsewhere on release and then move the savegames over when it comes to Steam.

I think it's really good so far. Loads of attention to detail, really polished.

Yes. I shot the scientist hanging on the ladder in the back of the head so he wouldn't have to die from falling.

No, it's only up to a certain point for this first release but there's still plenty of gameplay already, when I took a break today after my first sitting I had already gotten to Blast Pit(level with giant blind monsters in the missile silo).

It seems to be a very detailed mod, I was wondering if they were going to recycle a bunch of animations and ridiculously low-resolution textures from HL2 but it seems like just about every texture is extremely highly detailed and the animation is very thorough and smooth, as are the voices which I expected to be just a handful of shitty actors using an awful quality desk-mic but they all sound surprisingly similar to their characters and don't sound fuzzy at all.  The HDR is also cool looking, I heard many people are having performance problems with it on the GTX 6xx cards for some reason, probably driver issues, but my GTX 260 handles everything great at maxed out settings with Vsync enabled.  I think this game takes more advantage of the Source Engine than any Half-Life game has to date.

im not really interested in playing a game thats not finished yet, is there an eta when the whole game will be released

I really hope they do an Opposing Force and Blue Shift remake some day, I don't think I would even want Valve or Gearbox themselves to do it before these guys did tbh

Spent the last week playing this. I had more fun with black mesa than I had with HL2. Excellent mod.
