Ok I was playing on a 24/7 Karkand server today. When I entered I noticed that the commander was really overdoing the "Enemy Infantry/Tank/APC/Vehicle Spotted" command, but I gave it some time. Now I'm in the middle of the round and starting to get really pissed at this commander as he is spamming "Enemy Infantry Spotted!" every second and won't stop, even though I told him to shut up about 5 or 6 times. So I tell him again. He still will not stop so I initiate a mutiny vote, after this one fails, other people also start mutiny votes, none of which were successful. Now, its right near the end of the round and he still will not cease to be an annoying dumbass, so I spawned at the main base where he was prone, snuck up behind him and knifed him, nice and clean. Then, next round comes and I'm hoping he will not be commander again. GUESS WHAT?! Yes, he once again gets the office of commander. So one of my teammates voted mutiny again, unsuccessful but he says something finally, he says "lol, all the voters are noobs, im a great commander". I told him why we were trying to vote him out and he didn't respond. I figured he would stop spamming the commands. Nope. So I tell him to shut up once more. No response and he continues to be annoying. So I spawn at the main base where he was prone, just like the last round, but this time I'm a medic. I sneak up behind him, shoot him with my G36E, revive him, shoot him again, revive, shoot him again, revive, and repeat till my clip is empty. Then I pulled out my knife and stabbed him and revived him, did that a couple times then got kicked from the server for teamkilling. I found it hilarious, especially since I completely ruined my score that round, as I had -20 points for teamkilling that annoying bastard.

You are a piece of shit. He was trying to help you out. Its 24/7 UAV, instead of tking him and initiating votes, you could spend ur time looking at the minimap, eliminating targets and winning the round. if the spamming annoys you just turn your sound off.silentsin wrote:

It is a Commander's job to spot enemies. Spotting unhides enemies on all the team minimaps. If team members know what to do when they know the locations of the enemy, then the Commander's position can hand your team the round in a basket. A good Commander is a very busy player, working their ass off for the team. Spotting is a godsend to the team, but requires the squads to know what to do. On the general population of servers I've Commanded on, it does not seem like players watch or depend on their minimap. This is a pitfall to overcome.
When I join a server and I hear the Commander constantly spotting, I know he's working for the team and that the team has some hope. Without the spots, you are probably in for a dull and losing round. I'd much rather hear all the Commander's continual spots than to listen to all the auto-yelled 'Medic!' upon dying.

I wonder how many days til you get your stats removed, Isnt there a way to shut off the commander and others in the options?

Erm did you not realise that the commander gains points by spotting people & as irritating as it may seem, he was just doing his job. Since he wasnt fighting & commanding he was probably doing quite a good job too as he was paying attention to his commander screen. Additionaly by spotting enemies outside of the UAV & in the gaps between it going up & coming down he ensured that the infantry knew where targets were, where to avoid snipers & have a descent channce of not getting knifed in the back... which is coincedently what you did too him.

It sounds like a new Audio Control slider for Commander Voice volume would solve the issues. I've only found an overall Voice Slider so far, which could help some in itself, but cut down headset vol. too.

I do hate commanders who make sure that you're hearing "Enemy X Spotted" in your sleep later that night, but here's some other opitons for you.
- Leave the server and find somewhere else to play.
- Switch teams.
- Go Commander yourself.

Not only were you Teamkilling, but before you were kicked you were also STATS PADDING.
When the UAV is recharging the commander should use the scan and spot any enemies he sees, in obviously the vain attempts he has of trying to obtain victory and not allowing his teammates to be killed.
Dont ever blame the commander next when he never says a word and you knifed in the back.

I spot enemies ALOT, especially if my UAV is elsewhere and I see a loathesome Squad or friendly going towards a flag and hopes that he gets it. Just because you are in one area where the UAV is you think you have a right to tk a commander doing his job?? IF you don't like the spotting sounds, turn the volume off. I dont' spot unless there is a straggler. My job is to keep everyone alive and hope. Some people hate it , but alot like it especially now that you can see the UAV, when I see a enemy UAV, I know someone is coming. Now spotting is more of element of surprise now. Its' not just you playing the game by the way.
Tell your commanders if they are doing that stuff to only spot near your own troops. I've seen a commander spot every soldier on wake island, methodically exposing every one of em, that was at the airfield at the start of the match (playing US). Totally pointless because there was no one there to take advantage of it. Useless spotting just annoys the crap out of everyone, as shown with the entry's above but a proper commander, who spots near his troops, is a god send. I've only come across such a commander twice. And yeah, if the idget wouldn't stop spamming then tking's not the best idea, your only ruining your own stats..... still, whatever rocks your boat. Oh yeah, why revive him?? At least make him wait 15 seconds where you can have some peace and quiet.

When the commander is yammering in my ear non-stop:
I cant hear my squad mates talk.
I have trouble hearing the people *shooting* at me.
I can not hear the tank that is about to come around the corner.
I have trouble hearing incoming enemy artillery in time to take cover.
Commander Spotting is of very little use when used on infantry.
Odds are if that person is relevant to me, he is already in my line of sight. Even at max soom, the minimap isnt accurate enough for anything other than general position. It doesnt tell me if the guy is just around the corner, or on the roof above the alley, or prone backed into the corner at the end.
If I am approaching an objective, im going to take the time to lob nades in the obvious places, and use my zoom to check out the rooflines.
If he is concerned about someone sneaking up on me, he can bloody well use his mic and tell me, or whoever else is leading the squad.
If he is going to spot anything, spot the guy ninja-capping the flag 400 feet away. Or the tank thats hauling arse towards me but is still too far away to hear. Or th jet that is vectoring in to bomb me. That matters. Spotting the guy whose head is already in my sights is just him jogging my elbow. Spotting him 5 times in under a minute is just being an asshat.
