Now you hear all people bitching about the AA being too strong. But thats not the point. The AA is neither too strong nor too weak because the problem is different:
The strength of the air vehicles depends on the skill of the pilot....so a good chopper pilot is stronger than a bad chopper pilot, which goes for everything in BF2 EXCEPT the AA. The strength of the AA always is the same. It doesn't matter if you are uberskilled or a noob when sitting in an AA. The difference between highskilled people and noobs using AA is so small, that the strength of the AA is literally always the same.
But why is that a problem?
Thats quite easy: You are not able to influence the strength of the AA by yourself, so there are 2 extreme examples:
you have a noob pilot and a noob AA shooter -> AA is a lot too strong as the noob pilot has no idea how to evade the AA or how to kill it.
you have a highskill pilot and a highskill AA shooter -> AA is too weak, as the highskill AA shooter is as effective as the noob AA shooter while the highskill pilot just kicks the AA shooters ass.
So the only way to really make the air vehicles and the AA balanced: The strength of the AA has to fucking depend on the skill of the soldier using. Every weapon in bf2 depends on the skill of the user EXCEPT the AA. And you wonder why the AA is imbalanced?
