Update:

Well, I finally made it official. I'm leaving in June for OSUT...I'll be back in December after I finish my Airborne training and then it's off to "Q" School for Special Forces. Going in as an 18x...gonna catch a ton of shit from the Drill Sergeants for being a Special Forces recruit. Wish me luck and physical and mental strength to accomplish all the goals I set forward for myself. Failure is definitely not an option. I'll keep all of you updated on everthing...well, at least everything that isn't classified.

btw, i dont know if that guy left for basic yet or whatever, but hes in for a rude awakening if he thinks hes gonna be special forces. haha. 18x contract is just a way for recruiters to lure in dumbasses by telling them "yeah you can be special forces man".

AFROTC would have gone AFA. I ripped my hip flexor Senior of HS during track put me out of it (that was some bad pain, not just the part of not walking correctly but I couldn't compete for the final 2 meets and state). Use to be able to run the 1500m in 4:18. And could Long Jump 21+ ft, and well javalin had to stop because of a previous injury (blown shoulder from baseball 8th grade) threw 150ft. Probably stay in the college in stead trying for the AFA again, I like it here. Lots of my friend went into the military thou, have two at AFA and one at West Point. Several others are ROTC like me.

My family has a good military history, although it skipped my dad (bad eye sight).

Served onboard FGS Lübeck (F214) and FGS Karlsruhe (F212), both Anti-Submarine-Vessels
Served onboard FGS Lütjens (D185), Guided-Missiles Destroyer for almost 4 years.
That Beauty was the last Destroyer of the German Navy and has been decomissioned on Dec 18, 2003.

Nautical Miles sailed about 153478.4 Nautical Miles, that is the equivalent of 7 times circumnavigating the Planet.

HELL NO.. the Pavehawk is bad enough, would hate to deal with the torque splits and the rest of the crap you guys get all the time. Sweet machine.. but DAYUMM... lots o' freaking work man...

Taking nothing away from the fixed wingers.. but thay have NO IDEA how much work takes to keep a Helo on the flying schedule.

you 53 guys still going through Eustis?? when I went through the school house in '95 (cross trainee from the Fire Department) you guys had your own little slice of heaven out at the Airfield....

And for your green beret...hate to burst your bubble but probably wont happen...I failed out of Ranger school for accidentally walking on a road look for my squadmates who were "captured"....so trust me they will kick you out for anything..
