will 100 FPS cost alot?

well when ever i play BF2 i get 30-45 FPS and all the video settings are set to low or off. im runing a

+3200 AMD Athlon 64(with a Zalaman Fan)
K8V SE Deluxe
2x 512 MB of ram(Corsair CMX512-3200XLPRO)
Radeon 9600

IF thats the way it should run then thats cool? My other questions is, i want to upgrade my pc. i'll keep the cpu and the ram (and buy more of the same ram), and get a new motherboard, video card, case and power supply or should i just start fresh?ill put alot of money into the those components only if the the cpu and the ram are worth keeping?i really dont want to start fresh if i dont have to.

also i like to play at a really high FPS ,one of my other multiplayer games i could set the FPS over 250

I don't know about getting 100FPS, but most people seem to say that 2GB of RAM helped them greatly performance-wise. I'd try that out first before dumping any extra cash into a high-end video card or new board/CPU.

Unless you put everyone the on the lowest possible, with that video card I doubt you will be getting 100 fps.

I have same cpu , 2 gigs of ram and EVGA 7800GT video card. Run 1280x1024 with all settings on high and 4x AA. and I run about 60 to 70 probably most of the time sometimes droping into 40-50 range. I would say upgrade your Memory first since its the cheapest , then wait another month or two till Nvidias 7900 card/cards come out then 7800's should be cheaper. Always buy as much video card as you can afford. My next upgrade will be to a Athlon 64 4000. Should be quite a bit faster than my 3200.

I run BF2 at full settings and at 1600x1200 and get around 70, but i think if you saw how it looks you wouldnt worry so much about getting all the way to 100.....

this isn't cs so 100 doesn't really matter

human eyes can't see the difference above 60fps or something

but yea.. 2 gig of ram and a better graphic card will do real good

guys i have a geforce 6600 256bit
and 512 ram and 2.6 ghz i play at medium because of huge loading times if i play at high will more ram allow me to play at high with good results

I think you'r right - seeing as video is played at 25-30 fps depending on format..

I have a crazy system (finally!) Everything on max, and 70-100 fps - I don't have a clue as to what makes it go up in fps, and it doesn't really matter..

What you want is a system that will devour BF2 memory-wise, that way you can jump into the game as the very first player. Sometimes I'm able to fully cap a flag (singlehandedly) before everyone has gotten in...

But yeah - listen to the guys who know this shit, and...... move this thread into tech-forum
