i hate the jackhammer, i prefer the standard shotgun except the mec one, thats sucks as much as the jackhammer.
Mk.3A1 Jackhammer damage : 15x8 = 120The DAO-12 is by far superior
It does a little more damage per shot
DAO-12 Protecta damage : 12x8 = 96
does the Jackhammer have a better effective range than the DAO-12 ?
too bad : he has only 7 slugs in its magazine whereas real-life version has 10, and a semi-automatic mode.
: shotguns in real-life are instant kill up to 30-50 meters.
The Jackhammer is crap at any kind of range on full auto. To be honest, I pretty much never ever hold down the trigger with it unless the guy is right in front of me. I actually use it like I use the DAO-12 most of the time, just click-click-click. You'll negate a lot of the recoil that way so you'll get more hits. Besides, you shouldn't need more than 3 shells to kill someone anyways.
I always used the jackhammer when you could jump and shoot. It's harder to get kills with it now and I opt for the MP7. Before 1.2 you could run at someone and jump while unloading your rounds and burying them into the ground. It was very effective and really was the reason I started using Engineer so much (well that and the whole repair your own tank thing).
I`ve been using the jackhammer lately, just for fun I like it, but against a assault rifle or carbine you are fucked in long range. If you walk around corners, close range, it owns. But i get good training with the pistol though, since i have to take out snipers etc. with that one.

If we could switch to a single shot fire mode, jackhammer would be a sweet weapon. Otherways, the deviation is too high and a clip capacity is too low for an auto fire.
