Everything's been fine up until yesterday. Now when I play Battlefield 2 & SF when I get to the "Connecting to Account Server" screen I get a lockup. Completely clean Renstall and same thing. I even fell asleep waiting for it to try to connect in one instance and 6 hours later in the morning it was still frozen.

I'm sure it's an isolated problem. Anyone else get this?

I had a friend who had this same problem.....Here is what we did that fixed it.

1. Dont run the Fast Connect to online server via the desktop, run the regular executable shortcut.

2. His logitech mouse drivers were somehow causing problems.....So we turned them off in the processes menu and it worked fine.

Otherwise If this stuff doesnt work, try formatting and reinstalling windows, more than likely some system file got corrupted and is causing the problem

I don't use the fast connect so that's cool. The mouse driver is just the generic Microsoft one even though I use a Logitech mouse. Looks like another WinXP install for me.

Thanks anyway mate.

(Now where's that CD..?)

Reinstalled XP on a formatted drive. Installed "fresh out the box" BF2. No patches, nothing. Same problem.

The longest it's taken me to connect to the account server is 15 minutes.  It failed once.  Most likely it's just server overload.

I had a similar problem if I recal not sure, yeah when u install bf2 it takes a very long time to connect yeah i jsut remembered so i was wondering why the fuck is it taking so long, then i stopped playin sf then  i started connecting in less then 15 sec or so, so dont play sf it slows ur connectoin up for bf2 and for sf just start playing bf2 thats how my problem got solved.
