This happened to me once on Karkand. I refused to go on a suicidal mission to cap a flag, so I just lay in wait on the stairway in the building near the square (the second stairway leading onto the roof). It's an easy position to defend. I must have taken out five of the enemy before they finally got me. I just wish I had been a medic, I could have done even more damage.
When I'm the last person remaining I call for the enemy to surrender, and then I attempt to capture a flag despite the knowledge I'll almost certainly fail.
Nice one! Gotta like that the death didn't count!CTD-CaptainBuck wrote:
...alright 28-0 and a flag capture...then of course u all kno what happens when a loner takes a flag....here comes the arty with 1 ticket left. 1 manages to hit before the round was over but it didnt kill me...muhahaha flawless victo...loss i mean
I was up the water tower on Sharqi pre-1.2. Things were pretty quiet. A sniper came along and I shot him, then some troops showed up and I shot them. Why are all these guys suddenly attacking me??? Oh..... [suicide]
A few things I read through here that I just have to comment on....
There are no Migs on wake.
When you're alive, and people are dead. The dead people's messages cannot be seen by the people that are alive.
Now onto my story.
I've run into being a one man army many times. Happens a lot on Wake when I'm Chinese.
This one time, I was in the J-10 and was flying and flying, noticed all the flags were being taken.. and I was like "WTF team, do something, I can only kill so many guys at once" well, I ended up running out of ammo (except for my cannons) and I noticed that I was the only one left. We had a good amount of tickets over the USMC (like 50 or so more). So I figured I had a bit more time before I had to go cap a flag. plus, I couldn't pass up the millions of guys just running around the airfield.. so I just MGed a bunch of them. well I figured that the team was probably getting pissed, so I scouted out a few flags, found one with a tank(south base) and decided to go for it.. first I took out the jets.
Well, I bailed right into the tank, and immediatly saw people start rushing down to my location. I took out like 2 or 3 FAVs and hummers and a few lone wolfs trying to sneak around... I even took out a cobra that was trying to kill me (dodged the TV missle by like an inch) Finally took the flag, and everyone was typing "three cheers for slay!" and "good job" and the commander was happy as well, which was kinda cool, not many people show appreciation to people in this game. Anyways, we were still ahead by like 25 or so tickets, we eventually took back south beach, and the airfield, and fought for the north village and base til the end of the round, which we won.

I commonly end up being the last man alive (jet whore on wake). I love it when your team tries to boot you because your still flying around shooting down enemy jets when you have no bases left. They almost had a kick vote on me when i finnaly saw my chance to cap a flag, after doing some recon and sooting down the enemy chopper/jets (they were noobs anyway) i bail and cap the flag easily, as there was no troops nearby and i had just taken out all of their air support. I love being the hero.

I have had a few experiences of this on many different maps. some maps i will capture a flag and then all my team mates just appear from no where. other times i fail miserably.
But once on Masatur, I started the round as a sniper on the MEC side, and jumped into a vodnic then drove up to the water tower to try and take out some bad guys. managed to take out some guys but then an enemy sniper got me. then i respawned and moved to the same place as a sniper. during this period of time, my team mates must have been really bad and had already lost all but one base.
So i make it up to the water tower again and take out the sniper who got me. then he spawned again and i got him with a granade, and took out a few other guys. then my team had lost all the bases and had all died (yeah really short round!). then all of a sudden this black hawk comes down to try and get me. the enemy commander decideds to drop artillery near where i am but takes out his own team mates, then i managed to take out the two guys in the chopper as one was an easy target in the gunner seat, then the driver decides to get out so i kill him with a granade.
So i take the blackhawk (press Q and select "Thanks" as i walk over their dead bodies) and fly up really high since i realise that they are all looking for me at this point. then i thought to myself that really i could just piss the other team off by just hanging up high in the air where they can not get me. But in the end i thought that if was one of the dead MEC team mates, and someone did this, i would ask him to die because it is just wasting the time of everyone.
So i crash landed my chopper into an enemy vodnic, jumped out at the power plant to try and capture the flag. but then i died.

There is a lot to be said for the teamplaying Army of One. When I am a sniper I spot for the team and many times manage to turn enemy flags. A teamplaying Army of One is worth 10 "only out to better their score" players IMO.
Example: On Wake Island we are the USMC. We managed gain and then lose the Airfield. Hemoraging tickets. I crept from one end of the map to the airfield avoiding tanks, jeeps, special ops and snipers. I even let enemy soldiers spawning at the Airfield flag live so as not to give away my position. I finally get to the flag. I create a squad and type "SPAWN ON ME (3) TO TAKE THE AIRFIELD". One fucking teammate out of the whole side joins my squad and spawns. When the enemy realises that the flag is turning I am artied.
Sometimes one player can make a difference. I need to join a clan....

was chinese on wake once,we had a big ticket lead.was sniping the beach when i realised our last flag was being capped.soon was the only chinese left alive.the enemy commander typed in caps one enemy left, kill him and we win.jumped in a buggy and took off for the north base.as i got there a bh landed and two guys jumped out and i ran them over.grabbed the chopper and headed for the south base.bailed at 400 feet and chuted down.managed to cap flag with arty raining down and an attack chopper shooting the shit out of me.had 1 bar of health left.our team was stoked and the usmc pissed?we held on to win too.
Yeah, was on a server a bit ago (I think it was a clan one.. scums elite or something) the clan was sucking something awful, they lost the flags really quickly and had pretty much non-existent communications.
Long story short on kubra dam they'd lost all the flags and it was upto me the only person on the side to cap a flag.. I sneak to the dam, i'm capping the flag.. almost capped it when 2 tanks, an apc and an attack helicopter appear at my location (I assume the enemy commander used scan and uav) so I had to bug out because the flag started reverting to the other side, it took them 10 minutes to kill me. I at least gave them a good run around.
The moral of this story is, no matter how good you are, if your team is full of crap players expect to lose and simply try your best at annoying the hell out of the otherside.

i THINK THATS BULL SHIT, at your rank any one would join your squad. If im a commander and i seen a guy of your rank asking for something you sure as hell getting it.M1-Lightning wrote:
Playing anti-tank, I took on five infantry, one vodnik, and two tanks (they stole ours) on the Cement Factory at Karkand while the rest of my team and commander was only interested in the Hotel. I couldn't get anyone to join my squad, couldn't get UAV, couldn't get a box to resupply my ammo, and once I had the flag, I couldn't get a single teammate to spawn on the new flag and help me defend it. 3 bars of health and no AT rockets left...yeah I died pretty fast trying to defend that flag. But I used every resouce availablle, the TOW, MG and the empty vodnik.
Now you know why clanmates tend to stick together on pub servers. It's not to stack sides and rape the other players but rather to play with some really nice teamwork that you don't get from the average, self-interested pub players. When I'm playing with my clanmates wheter it's 6-8 of them or just 2-3 of them on a ranked server, my team never loses all of its flags like in the stories above.
